Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking an experienced and motivated Pre-sales Engineer to join our innovation efforts and support our customers in the Global High Tech (GHT). We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical background, who is ‘hands-on’, ideally with practical field/application experience, who is self-motivated, enjoys versatility and works across different topics and projects, has a desire for collaboration and is a creative problem solver.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Solution Architecture: Design end-to-end technical architectures for water treatment, monitoring, and sustainability platforms.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with sales, engineering, and service teams to understand client challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Proposal & Communication Development: Draft, edit, and deliver proposals that integrate input from sales, marketing, and technical experts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the communication bridge across commercial and technical functions.
  • Customer-Centric Focus: Prioritise contractor requirements in all communications.
  • Quality & Consistency: Maintain consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across proposals and communications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collect feedback from contractors and internal teams to refine communication strategies.
  • Innovation: Drive adoption of smart water management technologies, including IoT, predictive analytics, and digital twins.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure solutions meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Collaboration: Partner with product managers, R&D, and field engineers to deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and technical governance standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or similar).
  • Proven experience in designing complex technical solutions or architectures.
  • Experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or technical consulting roles.
  • Strong capability to design end-to-end system architectures.
  • Knowledge of water treatment systems and monitoring and sustainability platforms.
  • Familiarity with IoT, digital platforms, predictive analytics, and digital twins.
  • Ability to define and maintain technical roadmaps, reference architectures, and technical governance frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience working closely with customers and sales teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to present complex architectures to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to align multiple stakeholders and drive solution development from concept to delivery.
  • Experience working in a matrix and international environment.
  • Strong attention to technical governance and standardisation.
  • Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to balance big-picture thinking with technical detail.
