The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Llantrisant manufacturing site through robust process engineering, process safety management, and continuous improvement activities. The role provides technical expertise across manufacturing operations, capital projects, and change management while ensuring compliance with legislative, corporate, and site‑specific requirements. This position operates as a key member of the site Engineering function, working closely with Operations, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, R&D, and external partners to deliver world‑class manufacturing performance.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Provide day‑to‑day technical process engineering support to manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot process issues and deliver the implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and safe operating envelopes.
- Ownership of process design basis and documentation control.
- Support and participate in root cause investigations utilizing data‑driven process performance analysis for effective action close‑out.
- Participate in Process Hazard Assessments (PHA) as Process Engineering SME.
- Ensure compliance with DSEAR, ATEX, and relevant safety legislation.
- Actively support and comply with the site Management of Change (MoC) process.
- Lead and support the site’s CapEx projects in accordance with the Project Execution Plan.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage technical interactions with suppliers, contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, R&D, and Commercial teams.
- Communicate technical information clearly via written reports and oral presentations.
- Develop and deliver technical training for operators and engineers.
- Provide lifecycle asset support including commissioning and reliability input.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and process safety standards.
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals in an industrial environment.
- Ability to take ownership of work and deliver activities to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
