New Build Housing - Renewables Electrician
Live within 45mins travel from Newcastle
£40,000 FTE plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 Hours per week
Eco2Solar are pleased to announce a new and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the UK’s largest and most successful Solar PV installer as an Electrician, based in Newcastle. We will help you to develop the skills to future proof your career by installing EV chargers, Solar PV systems, battery storage and innovative products for new build housing developers to meet carbon reduction targets.
About the role:
- The role of the New Build Electrician offers the right candidate the opportunity to build, develop and grow their career with a highly reputable and growing company.
- Stay ahead of the latest technology and work with the UK’s largest new build solar installer, working in partnership with Eon.
- Working in a safe and controlled environment, installing renewable energy systems for new build housing developers, your mission will be to achieve the highest standard of quality, safety and customer service in low carbon electrical installations.
- As a renewables Electrician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of PV systems (inverters and generation meters), accurate and timely submission of paperwork, compliance with MCS and Health, Safety and Quality standards.
- This is a site-based role requiring travel on a daily basis. There will be a requirement for overnight stays as and when required.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential within this role. The role requires good technological skills and the ability to use Apps to complete certifications and reports. Having the ability to work both as part of a team and also take overall responsibility for your personal workload, whilst delivering excellent levels of service is essential. A desire to put our clients’ needs first and a thirst to develop your own skills is a key part of fitting into this established team.
About you:
- Previous experience in solar installations and/or domestic new builds is required.
- It is important that you have:
- 18th Edition electrical qualifications (BS7671)
- N/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Building and Structures) OR a completed apprenticeship with AM2
- Solar certification (BPEC or City & Guilds) Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small-Scale PV Systems
- CSCS/ECS Card for site works
- Testing and Inspection 2391-52
- Experience in 3 phase installations

What we offer:
- You’d be joining a highly reputable and growing company who have a real passion for sustainability, eco systems and delivering a first-class service to their customers.
- Financially:
- You will be paid a competitive base salary of £40,000 per annum
- You will be entitled to a productivity bonus giving you the ability to increase your earnings - Realistic potential of around £1000 per month
- You will receive a loyalty bonus every year to say thank you from us (starting around £2,500 and increasing each year)
- Total OTE based on the above breakdown is around £55k (subject to performance)
- We will offer you development with the opportunity to join as an electrician and progress through to an Installations Manager or Team leader (based on performance, quality of work and sharing the company values)
- You will have a company van, a fuel card and tools provided
- You will have 33 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays and a day for your birthday)
- You will have access to the holiday purchase scheme (you can buy and sell up to 5 extra days per year)
- We offer a contributory pension scheme
- Option of a wellness benefit of £30 per month
