Offline CNC Programmer The position, working for one of the areas leading manufacturers of Aerospace, Automotive and Rail products, involves the programming of CNC machines offline using CAD/CAM packages, primarily EdgeCAM. With the option to work either shifts (morning/afternoon rotation) or regular days (flexible start/finish) the successful applicant will be responsible for liaising with Lead programmers, Shift Leaders and other stakeholders to ensure effective planning of the programming department. Other responsibilities include interacting with machine shop personnel to ensure all required tooling and consumables are available to machinists when needed. As part of the programming team there will also be interaction with external suppliers to ensure tooling and materials are in place for new projects requiring non-standard tooling. Other expectations include assisting machine shop staff with issues which may arise during the running of prototypes and new projects whilst ensuring adherence to the company's processes and Health and Safety policies. Additional Duties and Responsibilities From time to time the post-holder may be required to undertake formal & informal training as required to fulfil the role with changes to programming methods and advances in technology. On rare occasions assistance may be provided to other departments in the form of operating CNC machines and assisting in other departments when needed.
