ECO Compliance Solutions Ltd. is seeking a knowledgeable Domestic Energy Assessor & Retrofit Assessor to carry out accurate property surveys, produce compliance reports, and support energy-efficiency improvement programs.
You will be responsible for assessing insulation, heating systems, ventilation, building fabric, and overall energy performance of domestic properties.
The role includes completing EPC assessments, Retrofit Assessments (PAS 2035), gathering technical data, and providing recommendations that help improve energy efficiency and support ECO scheme requirements.
The ideal candidate will ensure all assessments meet industry standards, maintain high-quality reporting, and contribute to delivering safe, compliant, and effective home energy upgrades.
About The Role
You will carry out professional EPC surveys, PAS 2035 retrofit assessments, property evidence collection, and documentation required for ECO4 and GBIS compliance.
This role is ideal for qualified assessors or experienced field surveyors looking to advance within the energy-efficiency industry.
Key Responsibilities
- EPC Surveys
- Conduct full Rd SAP surveys at domestic properties.
- Measure building elements, insulation levels, heating systems, and ventilation features.
- Enter all survey data into approved EPC software (Elmhurst, Stroma).
- Capture photographic evidence to support Trust Mark and audit requirements.
- Retrofit Assessment (PAS 2035)
- Complete Occupancy Assessments, Condition Surveys, and basic ventilation assessments.
- Identify building age band, heat-loss perimeter, and risk factors.
- Produce accurate survey notes, measurements, and evidence packs.
- Provide assessment data to Retrofit Coordinators and installers.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare and upload evidence packs for ECO4/GBIS applications.
- Ensure all survey data meets PAS 2035 and Trust Mark standards.
- Support eligibility checks including benefit verification (DWP) where required.
- Maintain precise records of all assessments completed.
- Communicate with tenants, landlords, letting agents, and homeowners.
- Schedule property visits and manage daily survey routes.
- Report findings to the in-house Compliance & Operations Manager.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Skills & Qualifications
- Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification
- City & Guilds Level 3, ABBE Level 3, or equivalent.
- Retrofit Assessor qualification
(preferred, or willingness to obtain).
- Strong understanding of building fabric, heating systems, insulation types, and ventilation.
- Ability to accurately measure, photograph, and document property features.
- Experience using EPC software (Elmhurst/Stroma).
- Good customer-service skills and professional communication style.
- Ability to travel independently to multiple survey locations.
Experience
- Previous EPC or retrofit surveying.
- Familiarity with ECO4, GBIS, PAS 2035 processes.
- Understanding of DWP verification and Trust Mark compliance.
