The Eco Centre is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Climate Community Outreach Worker to help people and communities across Bridgwater and the surrounding area take action on climate change, reduce waste and save money.
You ll be out and about meeting local people, community groups and organisations, helping to organise workshops and demonstrations, and promoting our new E-Save app, which supports households to reduce carbon and waste while cutting costs.
What you ll be doing

Who we re looking for
You don t need to have worked in this exact role before. We re looking for someone who is:

Friendly, approachable and able to connect with people from different backgrounds

Enthusiastic about climate change, sustainability and practical community action

Organised, self-motivated and confident working independently

A good communicator who can explain ideas simply and clearly

Comfortable working with community groups and volunteers

Willing to learn
Experience in community work, outreach, sustainability, volunteering, teaching or facilitating groups would be helpful, but transferable skills and enthusiasm are equally welcome.
The practical details
Hours: Up to 30 hours per month, flexible by agreement
Contract: Part-time, fixed term for 24 months, with possible extension subject to funding
Start: October/November 2026
Location: Home-based, with regular travel around Bridgwater, Somerset
Pay:

Self-employed: £12 £15 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Employed: £26,437 £30,000 pro rata, depending on experience and qualifications
Some evening and weekend work will be needed to fit around community events.
Please note: A full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle are essential, as you ll need to travel and transport displays and equipment.
