Assistant Bodyshop Manager – The Role:
Due to the investment in a new facility, we’re looking for an Assistant Bodyshop Manager to work as part of our Bodyshop Team in our fabrication workshop and paint shop facilities at Carlisle Airport. As the Assistant Bodyshop Manager, you’ll work closely with the Bodyshop Manager to oversee daily operations, support the team, and ensure refurbishments/repairs are carried out to the highest standards.
Assistant Bodyshop Manager – Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing a team of Paint Preppers, Bodyshop Assistants, Fabricators and General Labourers
- Engage, motivate and lead the team to deliver the required production output
- Manage day to day activities to ensure efficient use of time and resource
- Produce accurate job cards with methods ensuring all paperwork is followed and completed comprehensively
- Oversee the correct use of equipment, PPE, and tools to support staff well-being
- Discuss vehicle status and potential challenges with the Bodyshop Manager, including trucks on-site and those due in
- Order parts as required ensuring they are available for trucks coming in for refurbishment
- Maintain quality control of repairs and refurbishments throughout each stage of the refurbishment process
Assistant Bodyshop Manager – You:
- Ideally qualified to NVQ level 3/City & Guilds or ATA qualified with a solid Bodyshop background - as a Bodyshop Controller or Workshop Manager within Heavy Goods Vehicles
- You come from a fast-paced background
- You can do more than one thing at once
- You will have a full UK Driving Licence
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and highly organised with a strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively
