This Cambridge based life science start-up is seeking an experienced Protein Chemist to join them. As a start-up, there’s a variety of areas to work on, and this role would suit someone keen to experience a dynamic environment from working in the lab to technology strategy meetings.
Responsibilities
- Current projects revolve around applied proof‑of‑concept experiments for specific problems in pharmaceutical industries.
- Contributing to company strategy and identifying scientific target processes that are relevant.
- Working closely with key opinion leaders and other stakeholders.
- Design and perform assays around protein manipulation.
- Identify IP.
- Support and mentor team members.
Qualifications
- Degree in biochemistry or similar, and ideally a PhD holder.
- Industry experience in a research environment working on peptide development or antibody therapeutics, including projects around protein characterisation.
- Strong understanding of protein chemistry and ideally antibody‑based drugs.
- Strong communication skills including some experience in mentoring.
- Additional experience in reagent development and life science tools would be desirable.
