This role combines practical electronics, mechanical and software aspects to develop test rigs for the verification and characterisation of novel sensors. You will need to be an experienced and adaptable hardware test engineer, and happy taking the initiative on coming up with solutions. This is a varied role requiring hands-on engineering skills. You should be adept at fabricating mechanical fixtures, creating custom circuitry and cabling, writing basic software tools and scripts, data analysis and presentation of the results. You will become an expert in the company's sensor designs as well as inventing clever ways to test their functionality.
Responsibilities
- Design and build electromechanical test rigs and fixtures.
- Specify and carry out automated and manual test campaigns for functionality verification and device characterisation.
- Troubleshoot issues, analyse results, and create and maintain relevant documentation.
Qualifications
- Practical electronics and mechanical skills for designing and building fixtures or jigs, preferably with experience using a CAD package such as SolidWorks.
- Good familiarity with standard electronics test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to write clear concise documentation.
- Full existing UK work permission without time restriction or the need for sponsorship.
