Manage deployments and verification / tests for remote Linux systems Join a small, predominantly Cambridge-based, engineering team.

Your new role would be varied and would involve carrying out manual system level testing to ensure software performance and usability, and taking the lead on the move towards automation.

This will include deploying the finished releases to bespoke FPGA-accelerated Linux systems both on-site and overseas.

You would tackle any emergent issues with the deployment and get involved with characterising and diagnosing problems with the software itself.

The company itself operates within the financial sector and relies on high-availability ultrafast processing and communications.

Any issues will need to be dealt with in a timely manner and so some out-of-hours support may be needed from time to time.

You will need: Impressive academic credentials, with at least a 2.1 in Computer Science or closely similar subject from a well-respected university. (A proven ability to learn new skills and quickly solve problems is a key aspect of the role) An excellent practical knowledge of the Linux operating system Experience with deploying and testing software system including integrated bespoke hardware Strong scripting skills with Bash or Python A solid understanding of software engineering standard tools such as version control with Git Hub Existing UK work permission without time limit or sponsorship Not essential, but knowledge of FPGA-based systems, CI/CD infrastructure, Rust, or Verilog would enhance your application.
