Take innovative R&D concepts to prototype and production. Join this high-growth start-up based in Greater Cambridge who are looking for a Prototype and Development Engineer. The position will be as part of their engineering team, working alongside senior engineers to take innovative concepts to prototype and develop them into deliverable hardware products for the defence sector.
Day-to-day work will be hands-on, and require a strong understanding of engineering within a multidisciplinary environment (combining mechanical, electronics, software and physics).
Requirements:
- Must be eligible for UK security clearance. Applicants needing sponsorship or on any work visa will not be considered.
- Demonstrable R&D experience working in a cross-functional team delivering prototypes and new products.
- Strong CAD experience underpinned through excellent theoretical engineering understanding.
- Experience with additive manufacturing for prototyping.
- This role is based fully onsite at both workshops and R&D facilities, so applicants should be able to drive and have their own vehicle to easily go between these locations (sited a few miles apart).
- Some additional travel may be required to go to manufacturing / assembly partners.
