Job Description Electrically qualified site manager needed to take charge of high-tech R&D facilitiesA rare opportunity has arisen to take charge of managing the offices, labs, and grounds of a technology development company based south of Cambridge. The role would involve taking charge of a small team who would support you in keeping the facilities working smoothly.
As Facilities Manager, your role would include a mixture of: Leading a small Site Services team, and managing the annual budget and purchasingOverseeing improvements to facilities and planning the preventative maintenance scheduleManaging external contractors for major work items and specialist services (for instance PAT testing, lift servicing, and fire equipment inspections)Hands-on troubleshooting for routine problems with systems such as electrics, plumbing, and air conditioning. (You must have a broad range of building skills and be a qualified electrician)On occasion, assist with R&D programs by making rigs, stands etc. Previous experience in a site management roleElectrical qualifications and hands-on experience as an electricianA solid understanding of health and safety regulationsA variety of maintenance and repair skills such as basic plumbing, or carpentryGood communication and problem-solving skillsFull, existing UK work permission and the ability to obtain a UK "SC" security clearance (because the company work on government contracts and you will need to be able to access work areas).This is a great opportunity to lead a friendly professional team, working within a pleasant office and Lab setting.
Working hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday. Overtime will be paid for the rare occasions when additional hours need to be worked. A competitive salary, benefits package, and annual bonus are on offer to the successful candidate.
