Leading the development of complex electromechanical medical devices in Cambridge; salary up to £70k DoE + benefits. On-site in the company's Cambridge offices with occasional visits to clients and manufacturers; some home working may be possible.
Responsibilities:
- Manage development projects and steer technical direction.
- Capture requirements, report progress, resolve issues, and maintain frequent contact with clients.
- Lead multidisciplinary development teams and provide direct engineering input to deliver finished solutions.
- Tasks include innovative product design, problem solving, prototyping, supporting transfer to manufacture, and managing suppliers.
Qualifications:
- A 1st or 2.1 degree in mechanical engineering or a similarly applicable subject.
- Excellent designing, prototyping and testing skills, demonstrated by successfully taking multiple product concepts from design through to manufacture.
- Strong client-facing communication skills (consultancy experience preferred) and willingness to travel to client sites and manufacturers on occasion.
- Experience in project planning, project management and technical leadership.
- Full existing UK work permission without time limitation or sponsorship.
Nice-to-haves:
- CAD design (particularly with SolidWorks).
- Plastics and injection moulding.
- Medical device regulations – familiarity with the processes/documentation needed for FDA and ISO approval.
