Providing electronics consultancy expertise for the healthcare product sector South Cambs; to c£80,000 DoE + Benefits Based in spacious offices and workshops just south of Cambridge, this established engineering company works with clients to innovate and develop leading medical and healthcare products from diagnostic instruments and drug delivery products to digital health platforms and cell therapy systems. They are currently looking to hire an Electronics Engineering Consultant to join their hardware team. This is a senior role within the group and will involve taking project leadership when discussing with new clients, supporting and mentoring others within the team, as well as a hands-on approach to engineering and developing solutions. Requirements: * Degree in electronics or computer science AND demonstrable industry experience as a technical contributor for a wide range of relevant electronics projects. * Experience with systems architecting of complex electro-mechanical or electro-optical based technology. * Demonstrable expertise with firmware, FPGAs and CAD simulations (including hardware testing / verification). Ideally this expertise is for projects related to lab instruments or prototypes. Exposure to relevant manufacture processes would be desirable. * Experience working within a technical consultancy setting and familiarity with medical development standards (ISO13485, ISO14971). This is both a technical and commercial role, and as well as excellent technical know-how, the role would need top communication skills including relationship management, business development and stakeholder empathy. The role would mostly be sited at their offices with hybrid working options (1-2 days per week at home) possible when projects allow. There is likely to be some UK and international travel to meet clients and manufacturing partners. Applicants will need full, unrestricted rights to work in the UK.
