Top graduates wanted for an exciting and varied role in the defence industry. This well-established defence consultancy works closely with large defence firms and branches of the British government and specialises in tightly integrated hardware and software systems. While much of their work is kept secret, communications and high-speed data processing (sensors data, images, audio, etc.) are areas of expertise. With new challenges posed by sophisticated adversaries, the work done here is cutting-edge and offers a unique and rewarding environment to start a career in electronics.
You will be working on a variety of projects and technologies, from circuit and PCB design to signal processing algorithms in VHDL/Verilog and embedded C for microcontrollers. You will often be pushing designs to an extreme, aiming for the best possible performance to enable a new technique or extreme low power to open a new use case. Each project will have its unique challenges, and inventing solutions will require deep technical understanding and tenacity. This company is looking for candidates to start in the summer of 2026.
Requirements:
- 1st from a top university in Electronics or a related discipline supported by A*βs at A Level including Maths and Physics. Further postgraduate academic achievements (Masters, PhD, etc.) will be well received.
- Knowledge and interest in working in at least one of the following areas:
- FPGA development with VHDL/Verilog.
- Circuit design and PCB layout.
- Embedded software development in C or C++.
This position is fully office-based due to the high security requirements of the projects undertaken. This means no remote or hybrid work is possible. Instead, they offer flexible hours around core times and the ability to βbankβ extra hours in exchange for days off.
