Stealth start-up, working on applied biophysics-based technology for next generation. Based in Cambridge with ties to university research, this start-up has secured funding to enable its technology development. As they are in stealth mode, specific details would be shared under NDA with the company.

The are currently looking for a Biophysicist to join them, and seek an ambitious, hands-on technologist who would enjoy working in the lab on highly applied science. This would include proof-of-concept experiments for cutting-edge research, prototyping, biophysical assays and documentation.

Requirements:

  • PhD, MPhil or MRes graduate in biophysics or similar. Must have demonstrable project experience in biophysics research within an applied field.
  • Strong technical lab skills and excellent scientific problem solver.
  • Project experience should include work with proteins or nucleic acids (ideally within the same project).
  • Experience with electrophysiology, single molecule measurements, microfluidics or electrochemical measurements.
  • Any experience around Python scripting for automation or use of Arduinos would be desirable.
  • Good organisational skills including documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The role would be working in a small, dedicated team of multidisciplinary scientists. This is an ideal role for someone looking to work at the interface of science disciplines and take steps in forging new technologies.
