Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain AWS infrastructure, using Infrastructure as Code and workflow automation.
- Help ensure fast and efficient deployment to multiple environments.
- Maintain and improve the existing architecture, ensuring security and dependability of cloud‑based services.
- Employ automation and IaC to support multiple environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Collaborate with and mentor colleagues.
- Provide on‑call support (typically one week in four).
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a cloud engineer, providing support within an operational environment, with sustained tenure with employers.
- Good understanding of cloud technology, preferably AWS, and skills in networking, DNS, containerization, database management, automation and scripting, IaC, Terraform or CI/CD.
- Good troubleshooting and logical thinking skills to diagnose issues and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work within a team or independently, and comfortable providing on‑call support.
- Full existing rights to work in the UK, without time limit.
Location & Working Arrangements
Located in Cambridge. Some scope for hybrid working (1‑2 days WFH when projects allow), but reliable onsite attendance is required. Excellent remuneration package commensurate with skills and experience.
