Based in modern offices in Cambridge (walking distance from the city centre), this team are the UK office for a multinational mathematical software company. Their software products are used by engineers and scientists across the world and provide a wide range of applications across multiple engineering disciplines.

They are currently looking to recruit a Graduate or PhD Chemical Engineer to utilise their theoretical knowledge in applied maths modelling around projects such as: chemical thermodynamics and kinetics within batteries; principles of electrochemistry in fuel cells; phase change and phase equilibria; and molecular mass transport by diffusion and convection.

Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Applied Chemical Physics (supported by A*/A grades at A-level in maths and physics / chemistry).
  • Good demonstrable understanding of chemical engineering principles, applied maths modelling, and broad physics fundamentals.
  • Evidence of good communication skills through formal technical presentations or teaching / supervising.

There will be opportunities to meet with customers in person, so flexibility to travel within the UK and abroad is required.

On offer is an excellent compensation package including company pension, health insurance and flexible working. Hybrid working options are possible (up to 2 days per week working from home).

Note, no company sponsorship is available. Limited time-restricted visa holders will not be considered. Applicants should reside in or close to Cambridge – those requiring long commutes to come to the office will not be progressed.
