PURPOSE OF POST
To support the business and provide leadership in the overall delivery of production activities. Alongside project delivery, the Technical Director will work with the Director of Production, and their line reports (Production Managers, Producers and Technical Managers) to achieve the best possible production outcomes for the business, ensuring plans can be realised on schedule and within budget.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set the Eclipse standard for project delivery, as a senior member of the production team.
- Develop strong relationships with key clients and discuss event requirements directly.
- Producing accurate quotations and proposal documents.
- Manage all aspects of the pre-production process including design and scenic specifications where appropriate.
- Produce technical specifications, including liaising with our technical staff to ensure our clients receive the right solutions.
- Manage all aspects of the delivery process.
- Cost control of project budgets.
- Produce and manage administration documentation relating to a project, including but not limited to health & safety documents, floor plans, schematics, purchase orders and invoices.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop business opportunities.
- Work with existing clients to develop new business opportunities.
- Liaise cross departmentally, to ensure the highest level of service is received and all projects are carried out in accordance with client specific requirements.
Line Management
- Line management of assigned team. This might include but is not limited to, Production Managers, Technical Managers and Producers.
- Foster an empowering and inclusive team culture and aid the development of line reports.
- Assist Director of Production with interviewing and probation reviews.
- Expense approvals.
Process Oversight
- Involvement in CAPEX process.
- Identify and action areas of improvement across the business.
- Champion Eclipse’s policies and procedures.
- Consult cross-departmentally, regarding internal production procedures and strategy.
- Facilitate technical innovation and best practice in technical design.
