We are a looking to appoint an experienced Diagnostic Technician who is looking to “get off the concrete” and into a more office-based role with opportunity to progress away from the workshop.
They will be joining the UK’s leading supplier of commercial vehicle diagnostic equipment and software and must have the motivation and confidence to provide support and training to our users.
Who We’re Looking For:
The Diagnostic Technician we are looking for will have worked within motor trade for over 5 years and be a qualified mechanic.
Ideally they have attended a variety of OEM/manufacturer training courses and have direct experience of using truck, bus or car diagnostic tools and software.
This role will suit someone who is looking for a challenge, someone who is outgoing by nature and capable of training/helping other technicians to use the Eclipse equipment to best advantage.
The Role:
- Provide vehicle diagnostic support over the telephone and via our remote desktop capability as part of our in-house technical support team.
- Run diagnostics, resolve faults, suggest and make improvements using your knowledge and skills aided by the Eclipse Knowledge Database of historic support information.
- Deliver 1 or 2 day training courses in-house and at clients premises, using Eclipse diagnostic software and hardware.
- Record all diagnostic faults and outcomes on the Eclipse Knowledge Database.
- Support the Sales Team in helping clients and demonstrating product capabilities
- Support your colleagues and other Technicians in this busy environment.
- Work and communicate with customers in a very professional manner.
- Work to efficiency/productivity targets.
To Be A Successful Diagnostic Technician You Must Have:
- Qualified as a Diagnostic Technician with an NVQ in Motor Vehicle Technology and a City & Guilds level three or equivalent.
- Personal drive and determination to succeed with a mature outlook.
- A confident, professional telephone manner who can talk confidently and who works in a disciplined manner
- Resilience and the ability to keep trying.
- A good standard of written English
- Experience of working in an environment where performance is measured.
Additional training and full support will be provided for the chosen candidate.
The working hours are 08:30 to 17:30 with 30 mins lunch break.
