A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Integration Architect to join a highly advanced engineering programme to support the integration of complex electrical systems within a cutting-edge product environment. This role performs the duties of electrical system integration and interface management, reporting to senior engineering leadership within a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical interface between the overall system and equipment design authorities (internal and external suppliers)
- Ensure electrical compatibility and integrity across subsystems, equipment, and system architecture
- Support system-level integration, verification, validation, and acceptance activities
- Define, manage, and mature electrical requirements across the full project lifecycle
- Own and manage Statements of Work (SOW) for external suppliers
- Lead technical reviews and milestone gates (PDR, CDR), as well as progress meetings with suppliers
- Monitor and manage supplier delivery against cost, schedule, performance, and quality targets
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams including systems, mechanical, software, and power engineering
- Identify and manage technical risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place
- Support decision-making around re-use versus new design in line with programme constraints
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, regulations, and certification requirements
The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience working within complex engineering environments such as defence, aerospace, or maritime
- Familiarity with system integration, verification, validation, and certification processes
- Experience managing or interfacing with external suppliers and technical delivery packages
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Knowledge of configuration management tools and technical documentation practices
The ideal candidate must have:
- Strong understanding of systems engineering and integration within complex products
- Proven experience working at system, subsystem, or equipment level in requirements definition
- Background in electrical systems such as power distribution, wiring, or equipment integration
- Ability to take ownership of electrical interfaces and act as a technical authority
- Experience influencing technical decisions and driving engineering outcomes
- Practical understanding of electrical systems, even if not currently hands-on
