Job Description
We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well renowned, global manufacturer based in Stevenage. They are looking for a Network Security Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis working across a 24/7 shift pattern.
This role requires DV-level Security Clearance and applicants are therefore required to be a Sole British Citizen.
Responsibilities
- Join the Security Response team to support incident response and SOC operations.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust network security solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage vulnerabilities, secure changes, and ensure best-practice compliance.
- Optimise and standardise network security tools
- Contribute to security initiatives, solve complex challenges, and have a direct impact on the overall resilience of our IT environment
Requirements
- Strong foundations in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VLANs, load balancing) and firewall technologies (Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto).
- Hands-on experience with next-gen security features (IPS/IDS, SSL decryption, deep packet inspection) and secure proxy solutions (e.g. Bluecoat, F5) including SSL inspection and content filtering.
- Expertise in security protocols (IPSec, SSL/TLS, VPNs, 2FA), DMZ/network zoning, and monitoring tools (PRTG, Nagios).
- Desirable: familiarity with Darktrace Antigena, Splunk ES, or LogRhythm; adept at packet capture analysis to uncover advanced threat behaviours.
- Must be a British citizen able to obtain HMG BPSS and SC (DV-level) clearance.
