Our client is seeking a Simulation & Modelling Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team, developing advanced models and simulations that support the analysis, design and validation of complex systems within defence and security environments. This role performs the development, integration and validation of mathematical and physics-based models using MATLAB and Simulink, working closely with engineers and scientists to solve complex technical challenges and support engineering decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain simulation and modelling solutions for complex engineering systems
- Create physics-based models to analyse system behaviour and interactions
- Support system design, analysis and validation activities through modelling and simulation
- Work within model-based systems engineering (MBSE) environments and methodologies
- Develop and maintain test benches to support verification and validation activities
- Participate in code reviews and model reviews to ensure technical quality and consistency
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on system architecture and performance assessments
- Support the development of innovative solutions for complex defence and security challenges
The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience developing physics-based models of engineering systems
- Experience working within model-based systems engineering environments
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, processes and system architecture
- Experience developing verification, validation or test bench environments
- Experience conducting code reviews and technical peer reviews
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments
- Knowledge of DSP or radar signal processing techniques
- Experience working within complex engineering or technology-focused organisations
The ideal candidate must have:
- A degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related technical discipline
- Strong academic credentials with supporting qualification certificates available, including A-Levels (or equivalent) and degree qualifications
- Industry experience in simulation, modelling or systems analysis
- Strong MATLAB and Simulink experience
- Experience developing mathematical or physics-based models of complex systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively
- Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance
