We are looking for a driven and capable paralegal with a solid understanding of family law. The role will involve a mix of private and publicly funded work, depending on experience, and offers the opportunity to develop hands-on experience across a broad range of matters. You will be responsible for taking instructions from clients, assisting on cases, and in some instances managing your own files from start to finish.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting solicitors on a range of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy, private children matters, and domestic abuse cases
  • Assisting with legal aid applications where applicable
  • Managing client files and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
  • Conducting legal research and preparing summaries
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties
  • Preparing bundles and assisting with hearings and client meetings
  • Supporting billing processes and maintaining time records

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A good understanding of family law (private and/or legal aid experience advantageous)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
