We are supporting a Cambridge College in their search for a highly organised and detail-oriented Head of Governance. This vital role reports directly into the Bursar, providing support on all areas of governance and compliance. Key Responsibilities * Provide professional committee support to the Governing Body, Council, Finance Committee, and sub-committees. * Prepare and circulate high-quality agendas, papers, and minutes in line with agreed timelines. * Maintain the annual schedule of meetings and ensure coordination across all committees. * Manage committee memberships, elections, and trustee records, including updates to the Charity Commission. * Ensure the College meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, including those of the Charity Commission, FOI, and data protection. * Lead on records management and data protection policies, ensuring compliance and best practice. * Support the induction and ongoing training of trustees. * Liaise with College Officers, the Communications Manager, and other departments to ensure clear communication of governance matters. * Stay up to date with developments in higher education and charity sector regulation. The ideal candidate will have * Educated to degree level (ideally within law) or equivalent professional experience. * Proven experience in governance, compliance, or committee administration, ideally in higher education or the charity sector. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including minute-taking and report writing. * Sound understanding of data protection and FOI requirements. * Discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism in handling sensitive matters. * Experience using SharePoint is desirable If this sounds like the next step in your career, please apply via the advert or get in touch with Emma at Eclectic Recruitment.
