A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Antenna Design Engineer to join a high-performing Seeker and Datalink Systems team, contributing to a challenging and forward-thinking antenna development programme. This role performs the duties of Antenna Design Engineer and reports to the Antenna Technical Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out detailed design of novel antennas for multi-mode seekers, using the latest advancements in additive layer manufacturing.
- Develop solutions that support broader product designs, considering space limitations and demanding operational environments.
- Conduct electromagnetic modelling using Ansys HFSS, carry out complex simulations, and analyse data using MATLAB.
- Support the transition of development hardware into production.
- Collaborate with RF Engineers, Systems teams, and sensor teams to ensure integrated design success.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in antenna design and electromagnetic simulation (e.g., using HFSS or CST Studio).
- Knowledge of microwave frequencies, including UHF and frequencies beyond X-band.
- A relevant degree or higher-level qualification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- (Desirable) Hands-on experience in lab testing, including the use of anechoic chambers and RF test equipment.
