A well-established and respected law firm in the Southwest London area is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join their busy residential property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with at least 12 months’ residential conveyancing experience who is looking to progress within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Objectives
- Support fee earners with the management and progression of residential conveyancing files.
- Handle client and file-related queries professionally, both by phone and in person.
- Ensure timely, efficient and compliant progression of matters.
- Maintain accurate file management in line with firm policies.
- Provide excellent client care, escalating matters where necessary.
- Attend to clients, take instructions and prepare correspondence.
- Use internal systems and processes effectively.
- Liaise courteously with clients and introducers.
- Manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
- Comply with all firm procedures, standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Linking incoming post to relevant files.
- Using case management and ledger systems.
- Verifying client ID in line with AML requirements.
- Opening new files and issuing client care packs.
- Reviewing and preparing files for closure or archiving.
- Returning all telephone calls within 2 hours where possible, or by close of business.
- Preparing contract packs in line with procedure.
- Raising pre-contract enquiries.
- Ordering searches.
- Assisting with exchanges and post-completion work.
- Supporting fee earners throughout the entire transaction process.
