A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Software Testing Engineer to join a specialist Integration and Systems Validation team, supporting the testing and integration of advanced digital simulation and experimentation products within a dynamic and growing area of the business. This role performs end-to-end software testing and proving activities for one or more WSSE products within a software simulation/emulation environment, and reports to the ISV Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding customer needs and requirements from a proving perspective
- Understanding design and architecture, including defining software test bed requirements
- Developing comprehensive software test plans, designs, and specifications
- Conducting regular progressive software testing assurance during software development cycles
- Leading technical investigations into software defects and emergent behaviours
- Supporting external software integration, trials, and demonstrations with engineering partners and customers
- Conducting logs/data analysis to identify issues and demonstrate compliance to requirements
- Executing formal software qualification testing
- Providing regular updates to project leads and stakeholders on software functionality
- Writing detailed software test and analysis reports for certification purposes
- Supporting the software delivery and release process, including final certification activities
The ideal candidate would have:
- An understanding of different levels of software systems and the different stakeholders' perspectives
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for software development
- Knowledge of software simulation/emulator environments
The ideal candidate must have:
- Experience in systems proving, with knowledge of how to test and certify complex systems throughout the development lifecycle
- Experience in functional and/or software testing, ideally with verification and validation (V&V) knowledge
- Python scripting experience
- Software testing experience
- ISTQB software testing certification
