Our client, a global organisation is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. This is a full time, permanent position.
Key duties will include but are not limited to:
- Support with the on-going product design and development efforts
- Assist with reviewing and improving high volume manufacturing efforts
- Creation of engineering documents to suit production and project needs
- Support and communicate with other colleagues on other tasks when required
- Continually review and refine components by carrying out testing and experiments
- Drive activity in relation to continual quality improvements
- Design, prototype and set up production jigs
- Take ownership for small-medium engineering tasks with a view over scheduling, budgets and resources
The successful candidate will have:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree BSc / BEng / HND qualification or relevant experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- A good understanding of high reliability micro-fabrication techniques
- Excellent communicational skills
- Understanding and practical use of mechanical calculations such as: Torque, deformation, stress and heat transfer
- Experience with SolidWorks CAD package is essential
- Experience in dimensioning complex parts with GD
