The Firm

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Romford, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services across Family Law matters. Due to continued growth within the department, they are seeking a Family Fee Earner / Paralegal to join their friendly and supportive team.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to join a busy Family department handling a varied caseload of privately funded matters. The successful candidate will have previous experience within Family Law and will be confident supporting senior solicitors while also managing matters independently where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with and managing a range of Family Law matters including:
    • Divorce and separation
    • Financial remedy matters
    • Child arrangements
    • Domestic abuse matters
    • Cohabitation disputes
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, courts, barristers and third parties
  • Preparing court bundles and hearing documentation
  • Conducting legal research where required
  • Maintaining accurate case management records
  • Supporting senior solicitors within the department
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA and internal procedures

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience within a Family Law department
  • Experience assisting on or managing privately funded family matters
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and empathetic client manner
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems

A Law degree, LPC or SQE qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
