We are partnering with a well-established London law firm who are looking to recruit a Newly Qualified Criminal Solicitor to join their busy and respected criminal defence team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor looking to build a long-term career within criminal law in a supportive and inclusive environment. They are seeking a motivated and committed solicitor with a genuine passion for criminal defence work, who is keen to develop their advocacy skills and gain exposure to a broad range of criminal matters while working closely with experienced colleagues.
Typical duties for the role will include:
- Representing clients at police stations and Magistrates’ Courts.
- Preparing cases for hearings and trials in both the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court.
- Advising clients throughout the criminal justice process.
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence and case notes.
- Attending out-of-hours and duty solicitor work where required.
- Liaising with counsel, courts, clients and third parties.
- Managing files in accordance with legal aid and compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualification as a solicitor in England.
