A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Equipment Requirements Engineer to join a forward-thinking defence engineering department to support the delivery and certification of complex equipment for new applications.

This role performs the duties of an Equipment Requirements Engineer and reports to the Senior Engineering Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technical status, maturity and progression of assigned equipment work packages
  • Specify clear, accurate and verifiable requirements to internal design teams and external suppliers
  • Collaborate with national and international design authorities across electrical, mechanical, software and transversal engineering disciplines
  • Support the definition and control of technical baselines throughout the development lifecycle
  • Develop and deliver verification and validation strategies for subsystem and equipment performance
  • Prepare technical evidence packs to support subsystem and system-level certification for trials and customer delivery
  • Facilitate the exchange of technical information between suppliers, engineering teams and procurement

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Understanding of engineering design processes and system development lifecycles
  • Knowledge of high-integrity hardware, networking technologies, embedded electronics or complex mechanical assemblies
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary stakeholders or supporting technical trades
  • Exposure to requirements management, verification activities or V&V planning
  • Familiarity with relevant commercial, military or safety standards

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Experience managing small teams or taking ownership of technical work packages
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver engineering outputs to time, cost and quality expectations
