A highly regarded UK law firm is seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to lead a growing Commercial Team. This is a leadership opportunity within a successful practice recognised for advising innovative businesses across a wide range of sectors including technology, biotech, SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare, entertainment, communications and FMCG.
The firm advises clients ranging from ambitious start-ups and university spin-outs to globally recognised brands, with a strong reputation for combining technical legal expertise with commercially focused advice.
The role is perfect for someone potentially with a following of clients, and who is feeling penned in their current role looking for a position with progression and responsibility.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead a specialist commercial practice advising on complex and strategically significant matters, including:
- commercial contracts and outsourcing arrangements
- SaaS, software development and licensing agreements
- global supply-chain and procurement projects
- distribution, service and managed services agreements
- IP protection and commercialisation strategies
- technology platform and digital infrastructure projects
- regulatory and competition-related commercial issues
The role will involve leading client relationships, supervising and developing junior lawyers, supporting business development initiatives and helping shape the future growth of the practice.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have:
- significant experience in commercial law
- strong drafting and negotiation skills
- experience managing complex commercial transactions
- leadership and team management capability
- commercial awareness and strong client relationship skills
Experience advising technology-driven, healthcare or innovation-focused businesses would be advantageous.
