We are partnering with a highly regarded international insurance and healthcare practice in London, who are looking for an Associate to join their established clinical negligence team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate to join a market-leading practice known for handling complex and high-value defendant clinical negligence claims.

They are seeking a professional with strong experience in defendant clinical negligence work, acting for healthcare providers, clinicians and insurers.

Typical duties for the role will include:

  • Managing pre-action and litigated clinical negligence claims.
  • Drafting pleadings, advice, witness statements and court applications.
  • Conducting advocacy and attending hearings, mediations and settlement meetings.
  • Advising clients on liability, causation, quantum and strategy.
  • Working closely with clients to ensure compliance with service level agreements.
  • Supervising junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing.
  • Supporting business development activities, including articles and client training.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2–5+ years’ PQE in defendant clinical negligence.
  • Strong knowledge of the CPR and clinical negligence pre-action protocol.
  • Experience acting for NHS bodies, healthcare providers or medical indemnifiers.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team.
