A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Litigation Associate to lead on complex and high-value disputes within our client's International & Group Claims team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing major cases, supervising junior team members, and contributing to business development initiatives. The role involves acting on high-profile matters against multinational corporations, financial institutions and large UK businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cases from initial strategy through to trial, settlement, or enforcement.
- Provide strategic advice to clients on litigation risk, commercial outcomes, and case direction.
- Draft and supervise the drafting of core litigation documents including pleadings, witness evidence, and expert instructions.
- Manage large-scale disputes, working closely with counsel, experts and external professionals.
- Supervise junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals.
- Ensure compliance with CPR and procedural requirements.
- Contribute to business development and development of new practice areas.
- Support wider team growth, training, and knowledge sharing.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE.
- Substantial experience managing complex commercial litigation, group claims, or competition actions.
- Proven ability to run cases independently, including drafting, advocacy, negotiation and strategic decision-making.
- Strong experience preparing complex schedules of loss and quantum analysis.
- Excellent client-handling, leadership, and supervisory skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and interest in business development.
- Proficient in MS Office, case management systems, and e-disclosure platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in consumer, environmental or human-rights based class actions.
- Experience presenting seminars, writing articles or contributing to professional bodies.
