We are working with a well-regarded and established law firm who are looking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary / Career Paralegal to join their busy residential property team. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of residential property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, new-build properties, remortgages, transfers of equity and lease extensions.
This role would suit an experienced legal professional who enjoys residential property work and is looking for a long-term career within a legal support or paralegal position. While the role offers the opportunity to develop specialist experience, it is not designed as an entry-level position for recent graduates or as a route to qualifying as a solicitor through Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).

- Supporting fee earners throughout the conveyancing process, including exchange and completion.

- Preparing and submitting HM Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions.

- Assisting with post-completion matters and ensuring registrations and documentation are completed within the required timescales.
- Opening and closing files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Assisting with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), KYC and other compliance requirements.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors and other relevant parties to progress transactions and respond to general enquiries.
- Providing administrative and legal support to fee earners within a busy residential property team.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Property Paralegal or in a similar residential conveyancing support role.
- Experience handling SDLT returns and HM Land Registry applications.
- Experience dealing with requisitions and leasehold post-completion requirements.
- A good understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
- Experience assisting fee earners with exchange, completion and post-completion matters.
- Knowledge of file opening, file closing and AML compliance procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within residential property legal support.
Benefits include:
- 25 days’ annual leave, increasing with length of service.
- Discounted gym membership.
- Enhanced adoption, maternity and paternity pay, subject to qualifying criteria.
- Opportunities to develop within an established law firm.
