A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Systems Engineer - Defence (Maritime Systems) to join a highly successful engineering department, supporting a critical sub-system within a complex weapon system programme. This role performs the duties of systems engineering across the full product lifecycle, including in-service support, product validation, and engineering change, and reports to senior engineering leadership within the programme.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support and resolving in-service engineering queries across deployed systems
- Supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering activities using industry-standard tools
- Collaborating with project managers and planners to support delivery timelines and resource forecasting
- Producing and reviewing engineering documentation, including technical reports and change assessments
- Supporting system integration, test, and overall lifecycle engineering activities
Required qualifications and experience:
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML or UML
- Understanding of configuration management processes
- Knowledge of complex systems such as electronics, control systems, or communications systems
- Experience working in a structured engineering or manufacturing environment
- A STEM degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience or exposure to engineering product delivery (academic or industry)
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, including specification, integration, and testing
