A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Delivery Lead to join a specialist engineering function, supporting the delivery of complex products across their lifecycle. The role provides the opportunity to use a strong engineering background while working across technical teams to address risks, dependencies, obsolescence and opportunities to improve engineering efficiency. The Engineering Delivery Lead will coordinate engineering activities across multiple projects and functions, acting as a key point of contact between engineering teams and senior stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is looking to apply their technical knowledge to broader engineering delivery, influence decision-making and help shape the development and support of complex products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering activities associated with the delivery of complex products across the product lifecycle.
  • Identify, manage and resolve technical risks, dependencies and engineering issues across multiple projects.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve commonality, modularity, reuse and overall engineering efficiency.
  • Review predicted and measured engineering benefits to ensure they are realistic and achievable.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure appropriate plans are in place to manage programme dependencies.
  • Act as a key point of contact between engineering functions, equipment teams and centres of excellence when risks or issues arise.
  • Support the development of solutions to engineering obsolescence challenges while ensuring established dependencies are maintained.
  • Identify opportunities for new ways of working and support the implementation of innovative engineering solutions.
  • Influence and challenge technical decisions where required, including with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Summarise complex, multi-faceted engineering problems and provide clear recommendations to support decision-making.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Significant experience working within an engineering environment, ideally gained across complex product development or engineering programmes.
  • A broad technical understanding and the ability to work effectively across different engineering disciplines.
  • Experience of working across the product lifecycle, from design and development through to production and in-service support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to challenging engineering issues.
  • Experience of working across multiple teams and managing competing priorities across several projects.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to understand complex technical information and communicate it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A strong engineering background with significant industry experience.
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical products or complex engineering systems.
  • The ability to influence, challenge and lead without relying on direct line-management authority.
  • The ability to operate effectively where there is a high degree of technical uncertainty, complexity and competing priorities.
  • A flexible mindset and a willingness to consider new approaches to engineering delivery.

This position offers a lucrative benefits package, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Company bonus based on business performance.
  • Pension contributions of up to 14% combined employer and employee.
  • Paid overtime opportunities.
  • Up to 15 additional days of Flexi Leave.
  • Enhanced parental leave arrangements.
  • Subsidised meals and free on-site car parking.
  • Healthcare Cash Plan covering areas such as optical, dental and wellbeing expenses.
