We are working with a well-regarded law firm seeking a Department Assistant to join its Private Client team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring the smooth running of the department, while delivering a high standard of client care.

The role will involve working closely with colleagues within the Private Client team to provide administrative support across a range of tasks:

  • Preparation of accurate correspondence and documents through audio and script typing
  • Attending to clients in person, on the telephone and via email, providing support in a professional and friendly manner
  • Photocopying and post distribution in liaison with the Business Support Team
  • Working with the Business Support Team to manage file opening and closure in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society and SRA
  • Providing guidance and support to other Department Assistants within Private Client and across other Departments
  • Undertaking specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development

Competitive candidates will have previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Department Assistant within a law firm and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
