We are working with a respected solicitors’ practice in Southeast London that is expanding its specialist Court of Protection team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to develop their expertise in a collaborative environment, handling meaningful and rewarding work from the outset.
The Role
- You will manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision, supporting vulnerable clients and their families while developing your technical knowledge and confidence.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of Court of Protection matters with supervision
- Supporting clients who lack capacity and liaising with families, carers, local authorities, and external agencies
- Preparing applications, deputyship documentation, and annual account reports
- Assisting senior solicitors on more complex and high-value matters
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
About You
- We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual eager to grow within this specialist area of law. You will have:
- Newly qualified solicitor status (or due to qualify shortly)
- Training seat or experience in Court of Protection, private client, or related areas
- A good understanding of capacity law and deputyship processes
- Strong communication skills with a sensitive and client-focused approach
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
