A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Test Engineer to join a department within a leading technology organisation to support the delivery of high-quality testing across manual and automated frameworks on both new and legacy platforms. This role performs the duties of the Senior Test Engineer and reports to the senior engineering function.
- Writing and executing functional, regression, system, and performance tests to ensure product compliance with industry and technical standards.
- Testing software solutions and applications to ensure requirements are met and defects are identified and resolved.
- Reviewing and interpreting requirements documentation from Product Definition, Product Strategy, and external test teams.
- Supporting test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting to stakeholders.
- Producing and maintaining test documentation and quality metrics reporting.
- Developing and executing manual and automated test cases across LTE and TETRA-based products.
- Collaborating with software, hardware, and systems engineers to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects.
- Participating in design and requirements reviews to improve testability and quality outcomes.
- Mentoring junior test engineers and contributing to team capability growth.
- Occasional travel to support testing activities and stakeholders.
5+ years’ experience in manual and automation testing, ideally within embedded systems, telecoms, or mission-critical applications.
- Strong experience in manual testing methodologies for embedded software and hardware products.
- Exposure to telecommunications technologies such as TETRA and LTE (highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of Agile development environments.
- Experience working across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience in API and backend testing.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Postman, or JMeter.
- Full UK driving licence, own vehicle, and valid passport (travel required).
