Equipment Requirement Authority – Weapon System Equipment

We are supporting a leading defence organisation with the appointment of an Equipment Requirement Authority to join its Weapon Systems Equipment team. This role would suit a Systems or Design Engineer looking to move into technical project management, requirements management and certification within a complex engineering environment.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Managing the technical status and progression of assigned engineering work packages
• Defining clear and accurate equipment requirements and ensuring effective flow down into internal and external design teams
• Working with national and international Design Authorities to develop technical solutions and manage technical trades
• Developing verification and validation strategies across electrical, mechanical, software and wider system properties
• Preparing certification evidence and facilitating the exchange of technical information between suppliers and procurement teams

The ideal candidate will have:

• An understanding of engineering design processes and their application
• Knowledge of high-integrity hardware, networking technologies, custom electronics or complex mechanical design
• Experience managing a small team or previous team leadership experience
• The ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to define technical solutions
• An understanding of commercial, military and safety standards relevant to engineering development
