Estimator – Aluminium Curtain Walling, Glazing, Windows & Doors
Location: East Midlands (Hybrid – up to 3 days working from home)Salary: £43,000 – £50,000 (DOE)Projects: £1m – £5m range
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a specialist subcontractor delivering high-quality aluminium curtain walling, glazing, windows, and door packages across the East Midlands and wider UK.
This role requires strong, proven experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors, with a solid understanding of commercial construction environments, procurement processes, and competitive tendering.
You will be working on a variety of projects ranging from £1m to £5m, using leading façade and window systems including Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal, and producing estimates using LogiKal software
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium window/door packages
- Use LogiKal software to produce detailed and technically accurate quotations and system outputs
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements in detail
- Carry out detailed take-offs and material schedules
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Build up labour, plant, and material costs for tenders
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Work closely with commercial and pre-construction teams on bid submissions
- Attend tender review meetings and support handover to delivery teams
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within façades, glazing, or aluminium systems
- Strong experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors is essential
- Good technical knowledge of Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal products
- Proficient in LogiKal software for estimating and system design outputs
- Experience pricing curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium systems in the £1m–£5m range
- Strong understanding of construction procurement and contract processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- High attention to detail and strong numerical capability
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines
