The Market & Who We Are
Driven by unprecedented geopolitical shifts, the global defense, autonomous, and marine technology markets are experiencing explosive, sustained growth. EchoBlue Media Group sits at the center of this expansion. We operate the world's largest digital sourcing platforms (UST, DA, and OST) dedicated to these sectors.
Your primary focus will be driving growth across our three core platforms:
- Unmanned Systems Technology (UST): Dedicated to the global autonomy, robotics, and unmanned systems supply chain.
- Defense Advancement (DA): Dedicated to the defense, security, and military technology supply chain (excluding weaponry/ammunition).
- Ocean Science Technology (OST): Dedicated to the marine, offshore, and underwater technology sectors.
We are not a passive publisher; we are a managed sourcing engine. We capture engineers and procurement teams actively researching technology via SEO, a 1M+ social media footprint, AI LLMs, and direct traffic. We funnel this intent into over 900 product technology areas, supporting 400+ active partners ranging from prototype-stage startups to global prime contractors.
The Role:
As a Business Development Manager, you own top-of-funnel opportunity generation. Your objective is to map the market, execute targeted outreach, and book qualified discovery meetings for our Account Executives. Because of our aggressive global tradeshow schedule and strong industry reputation, you are rarely contacting cold. You will heavily leverage warm introductions, event follow-ups, and our established brand authority to build your pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Prospecting: Build high-fidelity prospect lists across the autonomy, defense, and marine supply chains using AI tools and market research.
- Outbound Execution: Run intelligent, high-volume outbound campaigns (call, email, LinkedIn). Engage CMOs, VPs of Sales, and Founders to challenge their current marketing ROI and pitch permanent digital visibility.
- Event Infiltration: Travel globally to major industry tradeshows (e.g., DSEI, Xponential, Oceanology). Capitalize on our reputation by executing pre-booked meetings and engaging targets face-to-face on the floor.
- Discovery & Qualification: Act as the critical first touchpoint. Use the SPIN methodology to uncover the prospect's current situation and explicitly identify pain points before handover.
Preferred Qualifications & Tech Stack
- Experience: Proven track record in B2B sales, SDR/BDR roles, or high-volume opportunity generation.
- Marcom Literacy (Strongly Preferred): Because we sell a digital marketing and sourcing solution, prior marketing experience or a solid understanding of marcom metrics (ROI, pipeline attribution, impressions) is a major advantage. Note: Full product and metric training will be provided for candidates with strong core sales fundamentals.
- Sales Tech Fluent: Hands-on experience with modern sales stacks. HubSpot experience is strongly preferred, alongside proficiency in tools like Apollo and ZoomInfo.
- AI Proficiency: Strong understanding and active use of AI tools to multiply output in your daily workflows.
- Consultative Communicator: Comfortable discussing technical markets (drones, CUAS, marine sensors) and translating them into commercial implications.
- Travel: Ad hoc events. Valid passport and active willingness to travel internationally.
- Languages (Nice to Have): Fluency in an additional European language (Spanish, German, French, Italian, or Portuguese).
Compensation & Trajectory
- Salary: £35-55k OTE (negotiable based on experience).
- Commission: Strong, uncapped compensation plan tied directly to qualified opportunity generation.
- Benefits: Casual dress, social events, Cycle to work scheme, 22 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), Collaborative working environment, MacBooks, big monitors, ergo chairs, free fruit, great coffee and anything else you need to get the job done.
