The Role
As PMO Lead, you will support the Head of PMO in establishing and operating a robust, enterprise-wide PMO function.
You will drive consistent governance, assurance, and reporting standards across all programmes, while embedding AIM as a sustainable operating model. Your focus will be on translating frameworks into real delivery practice - improving predictability, reducing risk, and strengthening stakeholder confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and embed consistent governance frameworks aligned to AIM, ensuring effective stage gates, approvals, and adherence to delivery standards
- Lead the rollout and consistent application of AIM, maintaining central standards, templates, and tools while driving continuous improvement
- Deliver consolidated portfolio reporting across risks, issues, milestones, and financials, providing clear insights to support decision-making
- Oversee RAID management, dependency tracking, and change control processes, ensuring timely escalation and effective mitigation
- Support the Head of PMO in day-to-day operations, enabling strategic focus and providing structured outputs for internal and client forums
- Maintain central repositories with strong version control, consistency, and audit readiness across all programmes
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience in a PMO or Business Change role, ideally within software or technology delivery
- Experience establishing or maturing PMO capability within a growing organisation
- Strong understanding of portfolio governance, assurance, and reporting frameworks
- Experience supporting delivery across multiple programmes or complex environments
- Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Jira
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into meaningful insight
- Confident communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders
- Experience in utilities, energy, or public sector environments
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models
- Knowledge of implementation methodologies or scaled delivery frameworks
- Recognised qualification such as PRINCE2, MPM, or AgilePM
