About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Research Director to join an entertainment business at the top of their game. This is a pivotal role, blending strategic thinking with hands-on analytics to drive revenue growth across sales, sponsorship, and audience engagement. As a key figure in centralising and optimising research across the business, you will empower teams with actionable insights that align with commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead end-to-end research initiatives to uncover actionable insights for sponsorship and sales.
- Define and refine research briefs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Present data and insights in a strategic, impactful manner to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Centralisation and Data Management
- Develop and implement a centralised research framework, consolidating insights from multiple events.
- Build and manage dashboards to provide a comprehensive view of audience behaviours and purchase trends.
- Collaborate with various teams to harmonise data across events, creating unified insights.
Commercial Insights
- Analyse audience data to uncover trends and opportunities for sales and sponsorship.
- Identify reasons behind underperforming campaigns or events, proposing solutions to improve outcomes.
- Provide insights that connect audience engagement with brand sponsorship opportunities.
Technical and Analytical Expertise
- Utilize advanced tools and platforms such as SQL, Python, SPSS, and Tableau to manage and analyse data.
- Drive the integration of social media listening tools to capture real-time audience sentiment.
- Collaborate with data analysts and engineers (to be hired in the next phase) to streamline data processes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior managers, providing clear and strategic recommendations.
- Support and guide team members to elevate their strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in research and analytics, open to industry background.
- Strong blend of technical and strategic skills, with hands-on experience in data management and analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, SPSS, Tableau, and social media listening tools.
- Ability to centralise fragmented data and create unified insights.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information.
- Experience in either a research agency in a client-facing role and client side insights is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to confidently present and influence at senior levels.
