Echo Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Wellingborough. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy engineering team, supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment and site facilities.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities across a range of production and site equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.
  • Supporting preventative maintenance schedules and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
  • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Working closely with production and engineering teams to support operational requirements.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A strong background in electrical maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC fault finding.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (minimum BTEC, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Good knowledge of preventative maintenance and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Previous experience using CMMS systems.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety requirements within an engineering environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
