ECHO Personnel is recruiting a Precision Manual Engineer for one of our clients based in Corby. Our client is a well-established engineering company providing high-quality machining, fabrication, and maintenance services across a range of industries.
As a Precision Manual Engineer, you will be responsible for operating manual lathes, milling machines, and associated workshop machinery to produce high-quality components. You will play a key role in ensuring parts are manufactured accurately and efficiently, working with a variety of materials and maintaining high engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and associated machinery
- Manufacture components to specification, working to tight tolerances
- Read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Perform machine setups, tool changes, and adjustments as required
- Work with materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, phosphor bronze, brass, and plastics
- Carry out quality checks using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with H&S procedures
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines
Requirements:
- Proven experience in manual milling and lathe operations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 30-minute lunch). Overtime available.
