Staff Responsibility:

  • Load products onto oven systems in accordance with production requirements.
  • Ensure correct product spacing, orientation, and loading patterns.
  • Monitor product flow into the oven to prevent blockages or inconsistencies.
  • Carry out pre-start inspections of equipment and work area before production begins.
  • Ensure ovens are clean and safe to use.
  • Verify correct product specification and schedule for the shift.
  • Confirm all safety guards are in place and functioning.
  • Report any faults or concerns immediately to the Area Manager.
  • Remove any defective or non-conforming products before loading.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.

The Oven Loading Operator plays a key role in the bakery production process by ensuring products are loaded into ovens safely, efficiently, and in line with production schedules. The position is responsible for maintaining a consistent product flow, supporting product quality, and ensuring food safety standards are met at all times. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to procedures such as FIFO (First In, First Out), and accurate completion of production documentation. The operator must carry out pre-start checks, monitor the loading process, and work closely with the production team to minimise downtime and waste. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that contributes directly to achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth operation of the bakery line.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Accurately complete all relevant production paperwork.
  • Record pre-start checks, process checks, and any issues identified.
  • Maintain traceability records in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure documentation is completed clearly, correctly, and on time.
  • Follow GMP and food safety standards at all times.
  • Ensure products meet quality specifications before entering the oven.

  • Support allergen control procedures where applicable.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

Working Hours: 6am - 3pm

Low risk ovens operator current pay - £12.95 will go to £13.40
