Job description:
Echo Personnel is recruiting on behalf of our client, an established and growing manufacturing business, for an experienced Production Team Leader to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong manufacturing background who can oversee production activities, maintain high-quality standards and support a team to achieve daily targets. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring that production processes are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support production operatives, ensuring daily targets and production schedules are achieved. Take a hands-on approach to manufacturing and assembly processes, supporting the team where required. Ensure all work meets quality standards, specifications and production requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings and general arrangement (GA) layouts. Monitor production performance, promoting a right-first-time approach.
Carry out regular safety, quality and housekeeping checks, ensuring a clean and safe working environment. Ensure company procedures, health and safety regulations and quality standards are consistently followed. Identify potential risks, report issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Train, coach and develop team members, ensuring appropriate training records are maintained. Monitor team performance, communicate expectations and support colleagues in achieving their objectives.
Assist with resource planning and provide cover for the Production Supervisor when required. Ensure materials, components and finished products are handled and stored correctly. Essential Skills & Experience Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment. Previous experience in a team leader, supervisory or senior production role would be advantageous. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and general arrangement layouts.
Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs). Knowledge of electrical assembly techniques. Strong understanding of quality inspection procedures and attention to detail. Knowledge of system testing and product functionality. A proactive approach to health and safety. Good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. The ability to lead by example while maintaining a hands-on approach.
Desirable
Qualifications & Experience NVQ Level 2 in an electrical-related discipline. At least two years' experience in production or operations. IOSH Working Safely qualification. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
